Kestrel Recovery Program
Readington volunteers from the Open Space Advisory Board and Wildlife Management Sub Committee teamed with NJ State Fish & Wildlife to initiate a kestrel recovery program for the township. Kestrels are a threatened species, and we are building out our nest box coverage. Two kestrel boxes were installed at the Summer Road Greenway, the first in a five-year program that may see 50 kestrel boxes installed throughout open space meadows in Readington.
